Food & Drink

Sewing is no fun without a coffee, tea (hot chocolate!) and delicious baked snacks! We have invited @for_the_good_of_the_people and @guchokipan_london to set up a pop-up cafe at our sewing event.

For the Good of the People will be offering lots of delicious hot drinks, so please remember to bring along your reusable coffee cup to help us keep our event sustainable.

Yumiko from Gu Choki Pan will be busy baking lots of her delicious Japanese micro bakery treats ready for us on 22nd April.

There is plenty of seating, so please head to the cafe at the back of Craft Central to stop for a break and make some new sewing friends.

More Food & Drink Options

There are a few other places we can recommend in between Craft Central and Island Gardens DLR station:

The Little Kebab House – opposite Craft Central on Westferry Road. They make a delicious falafel wrap, lentil soup and of course meat kebabs. Reasonably priced but please note it is cash only.

The Ship Public House – On the opposite side of the road to Craft Central and about a 5 minute walk towards Island Gardens DLR. It serves excellent stone baked pizzas.

The Old Fire Station Restaurant – On the same side of the road as Craft Central, walk towards Island Gardens DLR and it is about a 15 minute walk. A Turkish family own the restaurant and offer delicious and healthy home cooked food from breakfast to dinner.

Kinkao Thai Restaurant – is Sarah’s best kept secret. On a warm day sit outside and enjoy the views of Greenwich over the Thames whilst eating delicious Thai food. A 20 minute walk, the easiest way to get there is to walk up Napier Avenue (just to the right of Craft Central on the opposite side of the road). This brings you to the Thames path. Turn left and walk along the river until you can’t go any further. You will see the restaurant in front of you.

  1. Hi,

I’m really looking forward to coming to the fair and joining Claire for the draping workshop and Zoe’s talk.

It’s great that you have a pop up cafe but I’m wondering if there will be any gluten free options available as I have coeliac disease?

    Many thanks,
    Claire

  2. Hi Claire – thanks for asking. There will be gluten free options at the fair. Plus vegan for anyone who is plant based. See you Saturday, Sarah
