Workshops to be booked and charged separately. More details here.

Thank you to everyone who has registered. We are overwhelmed with the response for our first eco sewing event. We have to restrict the numbers for safety. If the gallery area (where the fair is taking place) is full when you arrive we may ask you to wait in the pop up café or come back later. Visitors will come and go throughout the day so we hope we can let everyone in at some point. See you there, thanks again.

About Sew Sustainable Fair

The idea for this new sewing event came from a group of small businesses who promote sewing sustainably. The nature of making our own clothes is a protest against the fast fashion industry. Considering where we buy our fabric and sewing supplies is the next step. Buying vintage and deadstock fabric is a sustainable alternative to buying new fabrics as we are already using items that are already in circulation. Preventing them from reaching landfill. Add to that dressmaking patterns created sustainably and eco friendly haberdashery to add that finishing touch.

The fair and talks are free, we are asking people to register their place so we get an idea of how many people are coming. It is also a way of us being able to send you more information before the day on how to get here. Feel free to get in touch if you have any specific questions.

Workshops to be booked separately at a fee. Visit the workshop page for more details.

Sewing Social

A pop up café will be on site along with seating. Stay and chat about sewing with friends. Find out about food options at the fair and close by here.

About the venue: Craft Central

Craft Central is home to a thriving community of professional makers.  From Studio spaces to business development support, they help makers succeed. Craft Central is a charity organisation that has been supporting and nurturing extraordinary makers  since 1970. For over 40 years our home was in Clerkenwell, but in 2017, we moved into the Forge after completing a significant renovation to a Grade II listed industrial building. We are using the beautiful Victorian industrial gallery space for our sewing event. The venue is fully accessible on the ground floor.
